Zack was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where his father worked as a detective for the Milwaukee Police Department while his mother cared for him and his younger brother as a stay-at-home mom. Zack attended Lutheran grade school at St. Jacobi Lutheran in Greenfield, Wisconsin and High School at Martin Luther High School in Greendale, WI. After graduating high school in 2016, Zack went to Martin Luther College (MLC) in New Ulm, Minnesota for his Bachelor of Arts. At MLC he served as president of the Art in Ministry program and as captain of the MLC men’s golf team. Upon graduating from MLC in May 2020, he enrolled at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (WLS) in Mequon, Wisconsin to pursue his Masters of Divinity.

As part of the WLS training program, Zack served at Faith Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg, Georgia for his Vicar year. Upon completing his Vicar responsibilities and returning to the Seminary for his Senior year, Zack served at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Hubertus, Wisconsin as a Senior Vicar. On May 23, 2024, Zack received his first pastoral ministry assignment to serve as an associate pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Antioch, Illinois.

Along his journey to become a pastor, Zack worked as a caddie and as a caregiver in assisted living and in-home settings. While much of his formative work was outside the WELS, Zack also worked within WELS as part of Camp Philip, Kingdom Workers, and Institutional Ministries. In addition to his passion for pastoral ministry, Zack has a particular love for working with, and caring for, people with dementia. When time allows, Zack’s hobbies include weightlifting, golfing, and listening to audiobooks.
