Our Beliefs
- We are a Biblical church giving God's word first place in our faith and life.
- We are a Lutheran church that proclaims forgiveness for all through Jesus Christ.
- We are a Christian church that gathers to praise God, to be strengthened by his word, and to reach out to those around us in Christian love.

Our History
Faith Ev. Lutheran Church became a congregation in Antioch, IL in 1951 where it worshiped in the Antioch VFW Hall until it moved to its first permanent location on Main Street in 1955 which included both a church and a school. Services were held at the Main Street location until the current church building, located on the corner of Grass Lake Rd. and 59, was dedicated in 2005. Classes were held at the same Main Street location until 2023 when the school closed and the congregation, and its staff, migrated to Faith's current location for full time ministry.
From the very beginning of Faith, the motto and the motive for our ministry has been to share the eternal gospel message: that even though this world is full of brokenness, pain, and sin, there is forgiveness and a place in heaven for every man, woman, and child who trusts in Jesus of Nazareth as their savior from sin. Throughout its history, Faith's staff and members have pursued this goal by providing Christ centered preaching, education, and community for those in, and around, the Antioch area.
Even though Faith's local ministry scope extends to cities and towns in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, through our partnership with our national church body, we help spread the sin forgiving, faith creating, never changing gospel message throughout the world.

Our Church Body
Faith Ev. Lutheran Church is part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS, characterized as theologically conservative, is the third largest Lutheran church body in America. With national offices in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, WELS began in 1850 when three German pastors met in Milwaukee. Today, it has grown to over 1200 congregations in North America. It has over 400,000 baptized members, which includes over 300,000 communicants, served by over 1000 pastors.
The synod operates four ministerial education schools: Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, Wisconsin; Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota; Luther Preparatory School, Watertown, Wisconsin; and Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Saginaw, Michigan.
As members of the WELS, we share with our fellow believers in our synod's stated mission:
"As men, women, and children united in faith and worship by the Word of God, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod exists to make disciples throughout the world for time and for eternity, using the gospel in word and sacrament to win the lost for Christ and to nurture believers for lives of Christian service, all to the glory of God."
