High School

Since 1978 Faith has been a member of the Shoreland Lutheran High School Federation. Currently we have 29 students from Faith attending. Shoreland is supported in part by offerings from our congregation and 24 other WELS churches in the area. Shoreland is 30 minutes north and east of Faith, just east of I-94 at the Kenosha and Racine County line in Wisconsin. It is located at the corner of County Highways E & H. Carpooling and bussing from Faith make traveling to Shoreland quite feasible.

Faith works with Shoreland in a number of ways to develop a strong K-12 curriculum. The principals from the 11 elementary schools in the area meet quarterly to coordinate programs such as the Academic Fair, music festivals, athletic events, and the like. Our students are exposed to life at Shoreland through the band and orchestra program, mission festivals, Pacer for a Day events, and especially through the Shoreland admission director’s monthly visits to Faith.

Shoreland Lutheran High School, which opened in 1971, now has an enrollment of over 300 students. The students at Shoreland consistently earn the highest ACT scores in Kenosha County. The test scores average two points higher than the state average. Nearly 75% of Shoreland students advance on to higher education. Approximately 15% go on to technical schools. Some enter the military or go directly into the work force. No matter what their calling, Shoreland students have received a sound, Christian, highly regarded education. Shoreland has had National Merit Scholarship Award winners as well as numerous other scholarship winners in both academics and athletics.

Today Shoreland offers numerous extra-curricular and athletic activities. The National Honors Society, drama club, forensics, choirs, band, and orchestra highlight just a few of the extra-curricular offerings. Shoreland has earned numerous conference championships in cross country, volleyball, basketball, football, soccer, track, softball, and baseball. In fact in 2007 the soccer team won the state championship, and the 2008 volleyball team made it to the state semi-finals. Whatever the interest, Shoreland Lutheran High School strives to educate, equip, and encourage students for lives of Christian service.
