Miscellaneous Information:

Jason Snodie was born in Jefferson, Wisconsin and attended St. John Lutheran School in Jefferson through fifth grade. When his family moved to Watertown, Wisconsin, Jason finished his grade school years at St. Mark Lutheran of Watertown. All of Jason’s immediate family still lives in Watertown. In 1996, Jason graduated from Lakeside Lutheran High School of Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Having been influenced by excellent church musicians as a child, Jason enrolled in the parish music program at Martin Luther College of New Ulm, Minnesota. His student teaching assignment sent him to Immanuel Lutheran School in La Crosse, Wisconsin to teach fourth and fifth grade. Jason completed his church music internship at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Plymouth, Michigan.

In 2001, after graduating from MLC with a Bachelor of Science in Education and secondary emphasis on parish music, Jason was assigned his first Call to teach fourth grade at Salem Lutheran School in Stillwater, Minnesota. He taught fourth grade there for ten years and then fifth grade for his final three years at Salem as he also taught music in grades four through eight. At Salem Jason also directed the children’s choir, served as head organist, accompanied the senior choir, and played in the hand bell choir. Additionally, he scheduled music groups and served as the faculty technology coordinator.

Jason holds a master’s degree in church music from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin. At Concordia, he studied organ with Dr. John Behnke and conducting with Dr. Kenneth Kosche. During his years in Stillwater Jason was also active in the Twin Cities area as an organist and choir director. For nine seasons he directed the Cantabile Singers, a traveling WELS chamber choral ensemble. Jason was active in the Twin Cities American Guild of Organists.

Jason and his wife Amy have two children, Aubrey (a Kindergartner at Faith) and Caleb (two years old), and are awaiting the arrival of their third child in the middle of October. Snodies recently settled into the new home they purchased in September in Paddock Lake, Wisconsin. Amy works as a school social worker for the Delavan/Darien school district on the Wisconsin side of the border. Jason enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and reading.

Jason teaches in the fourth and fifth grade classroom this school year at Faith School in addition to his Church & School Music Director duties. He also serves as the Deacon of Worship on the Faith Parish Council.
