Miscellaneous Information:

PURPOSE: The Deacon of Stewardship shall coordinate and oversee all programs which grow members of the congregation in their understanding and ability to apply the scriptural principles of Christian Stewardship to every aspect of their lives and in managing every other blessing received from the Lord.


OBJECTIVES:
Lead the Adult Stewardship training effort focusing on whole life stewardship

Develop and implement a youth stewardship training program

Provide leadership for all special offering efforts and capital campaigns

Provide leadership for all efforts to grow member households in awareness, knowledge and implementation of Scriptural principles that inform personal budgeting and financial management

Provide leadership for all efforts to grow member awareness, knowledge and implementation of estate planning, deferred gifts and endowments

Lead the volunteer recruitment and coordination efforts of the congregation in assistance of all ministries

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Chair the Stewardship Committee defined in Bylaw Article 8(i)

 Work with the stewardship committee in developing and maintaining a youth stewardship education curriculum

 Lead annual Stewardship campaign

 Supervise all special offerings and all capital campaigns of the congregation

 Develop and supervise a curriculum of instructional effort that grows member households in awareness, knowledge and implementation of Scriptural principles that inform personal budgeting and financial management

 Develop and supervise a curriculum of instructional effort that grows member awareness, knowledge and
implementation of estate planning, deferred gifts and endowments

 Development and supervise a plan for one on one ministry that assists members in formulating and completing personal plans for estate resolution, deferred gifts and endowments

 Develop and supervise programs that grow member awareness (especially new members and youth) of their personal and spiritual gifts

 Develop and supervise programs that grow member awareness (especially new members and youth) of opportunities to serve the congregation and the church at large (ministry faires, etc.)

 Develop and supervise a program that actively recruits member (especially new members and youth) involvement for all ministries of the congregation

 Facilitate a process of policy development and compliance for all elements of ministry under his responsibility bringing forward all policy proposals he deems appropriate to the Parish Council for discussion and approval

 Lead the annual process of ministry and budget planning for stewardship efforts

 Furnish, when requested, all necessary records for the audit committee

 Prepare quarterly update reports for the Parish Council

 Prepare and present an annual report of activities to the Presiding Elder and the Presiding Elder’s Committee
